Our Little Spring Chick
We're still waiting for Spring to actually spring around here. We've had some beautiful sunny days, but temperatures are just hanging in the 40's. I was hopeful to take these pictures outside, but didn't want Hylie's little nose to freeze.

7 Months
It seems Hylie is a totally different baby from last month! She's more verbal and loves figuring out how to make different sounds all the time. As you saw from previous posts, she's rolling all over the place and has some teeth! Hylie tends to favor rolling to her left, so when I put her down I will place all these enticing things to her right but it just doesn't seem to matter, she loves the fact that she's mobile so she'll roll until she runs into a wall (literally).
Her rolls on the floor aren't the only rolls we adore! We love our healthy, little girl!
Hylie's up to three meals a day now and she knows what she likes! She LOVES bananas and sweet potatoes are a close second. Don't tell her, but we've been able to successfully sneak in some carrots and squash by mixing it into her fruits. She enjoys eating her meals with the family in her chair.
She's getting better at sitting but still hasn't mastered the art of balance on her own just yet.
Her curiosity has definitely been growing. She'll play with toys and objects for quite some time and study things over. We laugh at what does fascinate her, though. See this cute little giraffe?
Her sleeping patterns are improving but we still can't get this little one to sleep at church. Oh well.
But when she's home, she's pretty good about going down for naps and melts our hearts even more every time she does.

Hylie loves it, but mostly because it has such an interesting tag in the back, ha ha!

Teething Trauma
Hylie likes to chomp on lots of things, including her own hand. Last night she chomped down on herself and quickly discovered she wasn't all gums anymore! We've been trying to get a picture of her two little pearly whites, but needless to say it's been more than difficult to do so.

Birthday Board
A few months ago Andrea introduced us to this birthday board idea and I was so excited to get in on the action...but it took me quite awhile to finally finish what I had started. But, nonetheless, it is finished!
I was excited to hang it up but made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing these to do the hanging:
Note the claim "Damage-Free Hanging"? That's only if it actually hangs. A few minutes after I stuck the board on the wall there was a huge crash and birthday chips were flying everywhere. I fixed up the few bruises that came as a result of the fall and thankfully wised up and used the good old brass hangers to do the job.
As you can see March is quite lacking in the birthday category with our family. But luckily that will be changing soon! Thanks, Morgan, for putting the Nelson clan on the board in March...and congrats to Eric and Morgan on their upcoming July wedding. We're so excited for you guys!

Downtown Chicago
Geoff took last Friday off so we could have a family adventure in Downtown Chicago. We originally were hoping to explore one of the many museums, but Hylie's nap schedule made it a little difficult to get downtown in time to truly get our money's worth, so we opted to check out some of the amazing architecture instead.
It was a COLD day, but we all bundled up and walked fast in between buildings and had a wonderful time.

Toe Sucker
We know when she's older Hylie will deny ever doing so, but yes, here's proof she's more than just a thumb sucker...
