Father's Day

We enjoyed celebrating this handsome man in our lives.  Hylie was super excited to make him a card, surprise him with breakfast in bed, and be sure to shower him with lots of dark chocolate.  (Every time Hylie mentioned she wanted to get Geoff some dark chocolate, she'd always add, "Because Daddy loves dark chocolate!")

We decided to celebrate Father's Day on Saturday, so after everyone was done with breakfast, Geoff helped the girls fly a kite--needless to say, it was a hit!

I'm so grateful for the institution of the family.  I have been blessed with amazing father-figures all my life: my father, grandfathers, and brothers.  And now I'm so thankful to spend eternity with my stalwart, supportive, and involved companion.  Geoff, you are an incredible man, father, and husband.  We sure love you.

Notice how Eliana is eyeing Daddy's grub?

It didn't take long for Eliana to help Dad out with his breakfast!

Lillian 8 Months

This little girl turned 8 months on June 14th.  She now consistently eats her solid foods, sits up on her own like a champ and has amazing reaching skills, loves making little noises with her mouth, claps her hands, puts anything and everything in her mouth, giggles at her silly sisters, sometimes sleeps through the night, grabs (and lunges) at anything and everything, is extremely pleasant unless you're trying to get her to sleep, kicks her legs like crazy, loves taking baths and splashing up a storm, enjoys drinking from a bottle, pulling her socks off and chewing on her toes (and socks!), loves sucking her thumb, and consistently melts our hearts.

Lillian is such a pleasant baby.  She is okay being held by others, even when Mom is in the room.  She also has been teasing me with some better sleep patterns here and there...but nothing consistent yet.

Hylie's Art Class

Our neighbor, Sidney Fa'anunu, is an extremely talented artist.  She's headed to BYU this fall to study art and decided to hold an art camp for little ones this summer.  Hylie was chomping at the bit to be a part of this experience.  It was a two-day event and each student painted their self-portrait.  Hylie did amazing work!

Family Pictures

Thank you, David Herrera!  We love your work!

38th Birthday

This year I enjoyed celebrating my birthday with friends and family.  We had our neighbors, the Fa'anunus come and join us for lunch.  I tried my hand at making the Cafe Rio salad and wasn't disappointed, yum-o!

Then, after Eliana and Lillian's nap time, our family got spiffed up to get our family pictures taken.  We asked a brother in our ward, David Herrera, to photograph our family.  It was an extremely enjoyable experience and the girls were SO well behaved--and the pictures turned out beautifully!

On the way home from our two hour photo shoot (I'm still shocked that the girls were so good during this long period of time!) we stopped at Dairy Queen for a yummy ice cream cake.

I couldn't ask for a more fulfilling life.  I have the gospel, a loving family, and countless blessings.  Looking forward to seeing what "38" brings!
