Kyron Overload

Kyron LOVES playing with cars

And if someone is willing to play ball with him, he'll stay out of the kitchen cupboards!

One evening he was so tickled with  himself playing peek-a-boo

If he's not walking on his own by the end of the month, I will be shocked.  Get ready world!

Dinner time has been full of screams from this little guy demanding more food.  So, after a lot of prompting and practicing, we have achieved a much more peaceful way of communicating:

Fairy Gardens

We decided to rip out the bushes around our brick patio and dedicate a spot for the girls to build up their fairy gardens that Grandma and Grandpa started with them last year.

They loved picking their flowers and digging in the dirt while I kept Kyron from EATING the flowers and dirt.

Here is a fun little video I captured of all the kids harmoniously playing together.  It was a glorious 15 seconds!

Mother's Day 2020

I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing Mother's Day with this crew:

(This is what the majority of our pictures look like)

(but we just show you the one that *almost* turned out well)

I got to play with Kyron in the basement while these girls worked tirelessly with Geoff to prepare a feast!

All the food was selected and prepared by the kids.  They even took the time to cut up Kyron's dinner so I didn't have to!

Every Mother's Day I reflect on the loving influences of my Mother, Grandmothers, Sister, Sisters-in-Law, Mother-in-Law, and countless other strong women in my life.  I'm grateful for the role of families.  During this pandemic, the world has relied on the establishment of the family to keep people safe and hospitals from being over-run.  I've depended heavily upon my Mother as I call her frequently to talk about life at home and in the world.  I continue to pray to be the mother I need to be for my children--I have so many amazing examples of women fulfilling their roles to nurture those around them--may I follow in their loving footsteps.

A Moment of Music

The week before our scheduled "Evening of Music" was to be held, the state of Illinois went into lockdown.  I was hopeful it was just going to be postponed, but because things are still shut down, I decided I will have to wait until next year to hold this event.

As a result, we recorded Hylie and Eliana playing the pieces they prepared:

Lillian's Perfect Day

On April 18th Lillian got to have her perfect day.

She helped prepare her breakfast burritos

Her first activity was to open the latest "Little Passports" package from Grammy and Pappy and to complete some activities from last month.

Breaking into a pyramid is no easy task!

We finally got to the sarcophagus

Lillian's perfect day also included ballerina crafts

Confession time: the  main reason we recorded her talking about her perfect day is because we love how she says "breakfast", so we had to capture it for posterity.

Dad's obstacle courses are such a hit--Lillian was thrilled with each activity!
