Eric and Morgan's Visit

Geoff and I were lucky to have Eric and Morgan drop in for a visit this past weekend.  They were able to spend Saturday evening and all day Sunday with us.  We enjoyed making pizza, playing some rounds of Taboo, going to church and just gabbing and laughing away.

It's always a treat to have family and friends stop in!

Birthday Fun

Geoff did a great deal to make my 33rd Birthday pretty memorable.  I was convinced he had forgotten the occasion because he never said anything about plans nor asked what I had in mind for the day. So the day before, I told Geoff I was making taco salad and strawberry shortcake for my birthday.  We didn't eat either.

On Sunday, June 3rd Geoff spent the morning helping out a little family in need, I went to run choir practice and then he and I met up to go to the Single's Ward so we could announce our institute class to all the summer new-comers.  We enjoyed gabbing with friends there and then headed home.

Geoff let me know he wanted to take some pictures of us for my birthday, so we got home, grabbed the camera and tripod and headed out to find some good picture spots.

While we were taking pictures, Geoff kept checking his phone and kept moving us further and further away from the house...something was up.

Sure enough, I was right.  We got back to the house to find this:

Meranda, Karen and Nila came over decorated the house AND made dinner.  It was a pretty big surprise!

When we wrapped up dinner, Geoff and I got to participate in the monthly family video chat session where it was a treat to be sung to by the entire clan.

Afterwards, Geoff had one more surprise.  For the past few weeks he had been working on a little piano number.  So to end a wonderful birthday, he serenaded me on the piano with this:

...the video file is too big, once I figure out how to fix that problem, I'll publish the video.

One Fish, Two Fish...NEW Fish

My dear work friend, Michelle, was very sweet and put together a baby shower for the three teachers at work who are having babies at the end of the summer.  She created a lovely party based on "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish".

Many people were able to come and were so generous and kind in helping us all get ready for our soon-to-be bundles of joy.

A visit from Rachel and Eli

Rachel and Eli were in town and had a fun visit with Geoff and I.  We enjoyed a picnic lunch on the balcony of Geoff's office.  It was so wonderful to be with them for an afternoon and see how big Eli is getting!

Porch sittin'

Geoff and I really enjoy taking advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having and usually eat our dinner out on our porch.

Our porch isn't very big, but it's perfect for our situation right now.

Summer isn't summer without corn on the cob, right?

Geoff and I have been having a debate as to who truly eats their corn properly...here are our finished cobs.  You be the judge, which corn looks like it was actually eaten as opposed to just smooshed around?

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a lovely Memorial Day weekend where Geoff and I were able to get away to a park for the afternoon and enjoy a picnic and a nice walk.

Afterwards Geoff surprised me by taking me swimsuit shopping for an early birthday present!  All the stores I had tried up until this point didn't have any maternity suits in stock, but Geoff called around and we found some places that had some to try on!

We are fortunate to have a pool in our townhome complex.  Recently I've noticed Geoff and I have been experiencing some pretty different temperature preferences...so being able to escape to the pool on super hot summer days will be a treat.

That night we wanted to take a dip in the pool, but by the time I had gotten back from picking up a friend from the airport it was dark...and the temperature outside was in the low 60's.  We thought we'd go for it anyways.  Once I dipped my toes in I immediately chickened out, so we headed back in and had some hot chocolate to finish off the night.
